Master Pastry Chef Gaston Lenotre, 1920-2009

The culinary world lost a giant today when Master Pastry Chef, Gaston Lenotre, passed away at the age of 88 at his home in the  Sologne region of France. One of the true innovators of his generation, Lenotre built an international pastry empire which included a school in Paris,a series of popular cookbooks (many of which I own and refer to on a regular basis), and several Pastry boutiques in 12 countries around the world.

The culinary world is suffered a great loss, but heaven just got a whole lot sweeter! You will be missed Chef Lenotre.
